Authors

After many years teaching, course directing and running his own school in Oxford, Paul Dummett became a full-time writer in 2007. His mission is to create materials that are thought-provoking and that learners can engage with emotionally. He started out with an interest in task and needs-based learning and now is particularly interested in the use of images and narrative techniques in teaching. Paul lives in Oxford with his wife and has three grown-up daughters.

Jake Hughes was born in Reading, England and grew up in England and Istanbul, Turkey. He studied drama at Liverpool John Moores University before setting up and running a theatre in education company in Edinburgh. He then spent several years travelling in Asia and Australia and working in London before moving to Barcelona and beginning his ELT career. After teaching in Spain, England and Turkey, he studied an MA in ELT and Applied Linguistics at King's College, London. Since graduating he has written pieces for EFL reader magazines, test items and is the author of two young learner course books in Greece.
