Authors

Jake Hughes was born in Reading, England and grew up in England and Istanbul, Turkey. He studied drama at Liverpool John Moores University before setting up and running a theatre in education company in Edinburgh. He then spent several years travelling in Asia and Australia and working in London before moving to Barcelona and beginning his ELT career. After teaching in Spain, England and Turkey, he studied an MA in ELT and Applied Linguistics at King's College, London. Since graduating he has written pieces for EFL reader magazines, test items and is the author of two young learner course books in Greece.

Since completing her Trinity Cert in 1999, Katie Wood has taught students from beginner level to advanced, in General English as well as Business, IELTS, FCE and CAE. She has also very much enjoyed working with students in a variety of ESP areas such as English for Tourism, British Culture and Military English. She is particularly interested in teacher training and as a CELTA trainer has run courses in the UK, Thailand, China and Vietnam as well as various in- service training sessions and courses.
