Authors
Matthew Johnson is the Faculty Leader for Health and Physical Education at Ignatius Park College, Townsville. He holds a Bachelor of Education, Master of sports coaching, Master of sports management, and Master of exercise science by research. He has been teaching HPE for 12 years and specialises in QCE Physical Education. Over this time, he has also worked as an endorser for the QCAA. Matt’s true passion is the study of strength and conditioning and its application to youth athletes in the school setting.
Kate Russell has taught Health and Physical Education in Queensland for 14 years, including as Head of Department at St Saviour’s College. As a district review panelist, Kate has contributed to the development of the Physical Education syllabus over many years. Kate now specialises in the field of child behaviour, psychology and development, working to help parents and educators build positive relationships with the children in their care.
